Brianna Davis

This altar is dedicated to my grandpa, James López, who left us on October 21, 2019. Though we don’t share blood, he is and always will be my family. My grandpa was a calm and patient man who sat in his chair and watched the world around him. The butterfly represents him and his presence with me forever, even though the chair my now appear empty. Placed above his altar are drawings he made himself by tracing the shapes of bottles and other random objects. Grandpa, this is for you, with love from your “Camellitas.”
