I did my ofrenda on my grandma (in my family we called her ma). My ma was so special in my family that every year after she passed away we would celebrate her birthday with my grandpa (we call him pa). The items that I chose for my ofrenda is what I chose as it represents my ma and what she liked. She loved making food for the whole family especially on holidays. She loved watching butterflies and going to church. She loved playing loteria and spending time with the kids. I guess that's why I got along with her so much as I would spend almost every minute with her. I just wish I had more time with her as I only knew so little about ma. Building this ofrenda for her felt heartbreaking at first but once I finished it I felt love and joy.
