This semester I was able to bring in @ramoncita_cabroncita to do a workshop for the Spirituality as Resistance class as part of the Dia de Los Muertos workshop preparation. She taught them about the history of the dolls in Mexico and how she has incorporated them into her practice as way of working through trauma and creating a space for healing. It was amazing to see her do her lead students through this process and see all the amazing dolls that came out. The students loved it and many incorporated their dolls into their altares.
