Lizeth Araiza

My grandfather from my dad’s side of the family passed away when my dad was young. I never heard stories about him, so when I finally did, I chose it as the story to put on the altar in memory of him.

The song lyrics on the altar speak of the injustices that have taken place throughout Latin America, and the “feminicidios” that continue to take place. Hence, a scarf of flowers to represent the thousands of lives lost, and the lyrics that speak for change, and an end to violence against women.
